“The product demo helps new Storyblokers have a space to ask questions and also feel free to share their thoughts without having to book a 1 to 1 call” says Kevin Davidson, Senior Demand Generation Specialist at Storyblok. 

When asked about the marketing objective of these deminars, Kevin shares “So for the demos, it was mainly trying to push people down the funnel in a comfortable way.”

The challenge:

Inconsistent attendee turnout: 

Despite the growing interest in product demos, Storyblok saw fluctuations in webinar turnout as there was no system in place to ensure that potential attendees received timely reminders and prompts to attend the deminars they'd signed up for.

Kevin says “For our previous webinars, we used manual ways of reminding. So we had peaks but it was sort of like a roller coaster of turnout percentage.”

A fragmented event tech stack:

Before switching to Zuddl, Storyblok's webinar execution was dispersed across various tools. They relied on Mailchimp to dispatch invitations and reminder emails. Meanwhile, their registration list was monitored via Salesforce, their CRM tool. 

And when it came to the actual streaming of content, they used Restream to broadcast onto an unlisted YouTube link. In addition to this, the team had to depend on a separate Polling app in order to run polls.

Kevin sums up the challenge in one simple line - "So there's quite a lot of things happening there - that’s very difficult to manage.”

Another significant change was “saving scenes before the event happens,” which allowed for smooth transitions during the run of show and minimized potential disruptions. 

Kevin shares, "It just really makes things so much easier and you can actually enjoy the session rather than freaking out taking things off the stage or on the stage."

(3) Enhanced backstage communication

As pointed out by Kevin, one of the standout features was the ability to “speak to people who are backstage while the event's live.” Zuddl’s Backstage feature ensured that communication between the team members remained uninterrupted and smooth, even during the live event.

(4) Duplicating success became easy with webinar replication 

The ability to duplicate each webinar using Zuddl streamlined the preparation process for recurring sessions. As highlighted by Kevin, this feature turned out to be a considerable "time saver," allowing them to maintain consistency across multiple sessions without the need to start from scratch every time. 

“What's really great about using Zuddl is that our brand experience is shown - without losing any of it. Because sometimes you go to a different platform and that platform restricts you from doing things whereas with Zuddl, it doesn't restrict you.” adds Kevin.
